Corinne
Dupeyrat
Corinne
Dupeyrat is an established Parisian artist with an
unprecedented talent and technique that demonstrates her
passion for animals, in particular horses. We met at her
studio in Paris and viewed her detailed and exquisite
works of art. Corinne’s art is truly magnificent. Working
primarily in pencils in order to capture all detail
possible, Corinne’s artwork becomes life-like and
breathtaking.
In addition to commissions for clients' championship
horses, family pets, Corinne's artwork consists of
wildlife (tigers, lions, giraffe) as well as other
animals in nature (birds, rabbits, etc.). Corinne has
additionally been commissioned to draw client’s homes and
surrounding land. Corinne has been commissioned for
private and exclusive drawings by clients in the United
States (Kentucky, Oklahoma) and throughout Europe
(France, Spain, England and Italy). Corinne’s work has
been exhibited at the “sellerie Guibert” in Paris since
2000, as well as other equestrian art exhibitions, and
will be presenting her artwork at the Dubai International
Horse Fair March 2008. Pont Neuf Bis is the first to
bring Corinne Dupreyrat’s exceptional quality of art to
the North American market.

"If I had to define myself, I would say that in a
previous life I must have been an Amazonian woman because
as far back as I remember I have always had a passion for
horses. At the age when other little girls played with
dolls, I played horse: I built stables and obstacle
courses for my imaginary horses, each of which was more
beautiful than the other. I didn’t run, I galloped. I
didn’t laugh, I neighed. I even managed to worry my
parents due to such an obsession!
When I was about three years old, my father finally let
me ride a horse. His constant harping to teach me how to
mount correctly didn’t discourage me. I was set loose: I
could ride a horse! Many years of learning followed
before I began to participate in horse-shows and hurdling
competitions with my marvelous little pony: My Love.
At school I would daydream while sketching horses on my
folders, although my teachers thought of me as a studious
and attentive student… Then, after many years of studying
interior architecture (seven years!) and with two
diplomas under my belt, I set up my own business. I
designed and carried out layout projects for companies
and private clients for eight years. My horses were far
off and I missed them terribly!
Constantly thinking back to the time when my pastimes
were entirely devoted to horses, I allowed my passion to
catch up with me: what’s bred in the bone will come out
in the flesh.
I purchased a wonderful black Spanish thoroughbred
stallion and I returned to riding. Training: rigor and
precision! At the same time, I took up drawing again, and
wanted to make a eulogy to this wonderful animal, a
companion of mankind for so long that it has played an
important role in our history.
Through my work, I strive to communicate what one feels
while riding a horse: lightness and grace, power and
fervor." - Corinne Dupeyrat
