Marion Rebecca’s Limoges porcelain was offered for the silent auction at the formal event sponsored by the French-American Chamber of Commerce. Bringing together many different French citizens and Francophiles to enjoy an evening of excellent food from the region, as well as prestigious wines and liquors, the invited guests were able to participate in a silent auction of various French themed items and products.

In a photo feature, Delarboulas’ cutlery was highlighted by interiors magazine in the article, “In Pursuit of Les Couverts Fashion”. Beautifully highlighted were the Gold Turban and Silver Glycine cutlery sets. PONT NEUF BIS coordinated with interiors magazine the selection of Delarboulas in this issue.

Maison et Objet - Paris (Sept. 2008)

This fall's Maison et Objet in Paris demonstrated the same decline in attendance as many other salons for the last five years. Buyers are clearly changing their behaviors towards these salons that merge too many different levels of quality and ambiguous products that can belong to different brands. Very little effort is made to elevate high quality products. Many inexperienced buyers seek good deals and sacrifice quality to meet the demands of department stores' board of directors who continue to leverage their quality brand when they clearly seek cheaper and materials of lesser quality.

We will be attending the Dubai International Horse Fair March 2008. Three of the Pont Neuf Bis selected French artisans have designed exclusive collections for the event's equestrian theme. This demonstration of creativity, and mastering their respective skills to meet the needs of this exclusive clientele, strengthens this sought-out quality.

As part of our research for high quality products made in France and Europe, we go through the endless exhibitions of Maison et Objet; a recognized barometer and reference point for new home decoration trends. In addition to the strong American and European knowledge, and past and present presence at this show, it has become obvious Middle-Easterners, Asians and Russians were acquiring knowledge and a taste for high-end products. Unbeknownst to many customers, some reputable French brands manufacture in Asia and India to manage their production cost in order to sell to the US market; consumers no longer get the quality they pay for. Amongst the opulent display of known brands we find the French artisans and artists sought-out by the real connoisseurs. Yes they exist, they exhibit and they are emerging as France’s pride in craftsmanship and quality. The French “Chambre des Arts et Metiers” and French Chamber of Commerce are supporting these talented companies and individuals. I met with many of these artists and left reassured that this artisan quality will prevail and ensure a long-lasting tradition of craftsmanship expected of French artisans.

The INDEX Dubai show is the equivalent of the “Maison et Objet” show in Paris, where Marion Rebecca has shown on numerous occasions. Marion Rebecca will be exhibiting her exclusive designs and Limoges porcelain to this emerging clientele of serious connoisseurs and buyers.
